About USDZ
USDZ conversion is a technical phase that involves adapting 3D eyewear models from the GLB format to a format compatible with augmented reality visualization systems on Apple devices.
The USDZ format, developed by Apple in collaboration with Pixar, is optimized for use on iOS devices, enabling models to be displayed on Apple platforms and devices, including Virtual Try-On (VTO) experiences.
USDZ in Frame Validation
As part of the Frame Validation process, the USDZ file plays a crucial role in ensuring that the eyewear model is correctly displayed in augmented reality environments on Apple devices.
Within the workflow, the Modeler prepares and uploads the model in GLB format.
A dedicated tool is then used to automatically convert it into USDZ format, accessible within the 3D Asset tab.
For the actual conversion, the Update button must be clicked, for the FULL model and for the CUT model.

Once the conversion is complete, it is necessary to confirm by clicking the green checkmark; alternatively, clicking the red trash icon will delete the conversion.
Note: As with the
Uploadof GLB files, the conversion can also be saved by clicking theSavebutton, located at the top right.
