The purpose of the 3D AR Viewer is to render a high-quality three-dimensional scene in real time on the web. Using the most advanced graphics and rendering technologies, the glasses are represented with high precision and in a very photorealistic way. Augmented Reality (AR) mode helps users combine the digital product with the real environment, for example on a table, improving their experience and their perception of how the product will look in a real context.
Project Aims and Scopes
The philosophy of the 3D AR Viewer is to improve the user experience by increasing the quality of the scene view in every detail. The scene is rendered quickly with realistic lighting, using high dynamic range images (HDRIs) and optimized 3D models with physically based rendering (PBR) materials, achieving maximum photorealism with better performance.
To achieve these results, the focus was on optimizing performance, adjusting dynamically certain material properties (e.g., the blending of transmissive materials for double transparency), and improving the scene realism. To perform these optimizations, it is necessary to respect the nomenclature of the materials within the 3D models, knowing exactly to which type of material (dielectric, metallic, lens, transmissive) the adjustment needs to be applied.
3D AR Viewer Demo
Below there is an interactive demo of the 3D AR Viewer in action:
This demo shows the main features of the 3D AR Viewer, including the ability to rotate the model, switch to the single and multiple variants view, and toggle the reflecting floor. In addition, an AR button is present to activate AR mode and view the glasses in the real world.
