Positioning and Environment

Mirror Positioning

Choose a location in the store that allows customers to comfortably interact with the Mirror:

  • Place the Mirror against a wall or stable surface, leaving enough space behind for ventilation and cable management.
  • Ensure there is at least 1.5–2 metres of free space in front of the Mirror, so customers can stand at a natural distance for the virtual try-on and photo acquisition.
  • The Mirror should be positioned at a height appropriate for standing use — the screen centre should be approximately at eye level for the average user.
  • Avoid placing the Mirror in narrow aisles, doorways, or high-traffic passages where customers might be bumped or interrupted.

Lighting

Proper lighting is critical for the quality of the virtual try-on and showroom photo experience:

  • Use even, diffused lighting in the area around the Mirror.
  • Avoid direct sunlight or strong spotlights hitting the screen or the customer’s face — this causes glare and interferes with face tracking.
  • Avoid backlighting (bright light sources behind the customer) — this makes the camera image too dark.
  • Avoid strong reflections on the screen from nearby windows or ceiling lights.
tip

The best results are achieved in areas with consistent, indirect lighting — typical of well-lit retail interiors.

Environmental Conditions

The Mirror is designed for indoor use only. Ensure the following conditions:

  • Temperature: between 10°C and 35°C. Avoid placing the Mirror near heat sources, radiators, or in direct sunlight.
  • Humidity: standard indoor levels. Do not place the Mirror in humid environments (e.g., near open doors in rainy weather, bathrooms).
  • Ventilation: do not block the air vents on the back of the device. Leave sufficient clearance for air circulation.

Volume Adjustment

The Mirror features multilingual dynamic audio prompts that guide the customer during the main steps of the experience — especially during the photo acquisition phase.

  • Volume is configured and adjusted remotely by the Spaarkly team.
  • If the volume needs to be increased or decreased for your store environment, contact support.

Network Connectivity

The Mirror requires an internet connection for:

  • Remote support and diagnostics.
  • Software and configuration updates.
  • Catalogue synchronisation.
  • QR code image sharing and retrieval.

See WiFi Setup for connection instructions.

note

The core virtual try-on and catalogue browsing experience works offline. However, the personal Showroom QR code sharing, updates, and remote support require an active internet connection.
