Frequently Asked Questions
General
What is the ARShades Mirror Showroom?
The ARShades Mirror Showroom is an interactive digital mirror that allows customers to browse eyewear catalogues, try on glasses virtually in real time, and create a personalised showroom with realistic photos of themselves wearing selected models.
Does the customer need to create an account or log in?
No. The experience is designed for self-service use without any authentication or login.
What languages are supported?
The interface and audio prompts support Italian, English, French, Spanish, and German in the standard configuration. Additional languages can be activated upon request.
Experience and Features
What can the customer do with the Mirror?
The customer can:
- Browse digital eyewear catalogues with filters by target, brand, and product type.
- Try on glasses in real-time virtual try-on (VTO) mode.
- View products in 3D View mode.
- Choose size and colour variants.
- Create a personal Showroom with guided photo acquisition.
- Build a shortlist of favourites and select colour variants via try-on.
- Download and share personalised images via QR code.
What is the Personal Showroom?
The Personal Showroom is a feature where the system captures guided images of the customer’s face and generates a personalised gallery showing the selected eyewear models realistically overlaid. The customer can then download these images via a temporary QR code.
How does the QR code sharing work?
At the end of the experience, the customer can request their photos. The system generates a temporary QR code that the customer scans with their smartphone to access, download, share, or delete their images.
Privacy and Data
Are customer photos stored permanently?
No. Images are managed according to the applicable privacy policy. The customer is informed before photo acquisition, and images are accessible via a temporary QR code. The customer can also delete their images where provided by the active flow.
Does the Mirror collect personal data?
The Mirror may include an on-device AI module that collects anonymous, aggregate statistical data only — such as estimated gender, estimated age range, and whether the person is wearing glasses. No personal identification is performed.
Hardware and Connectivity
Does the Mirror work without internet?
The core experience (catalogue browsing, virtual try-on) works offline. However, an internet connection is required for QR code sharing, remote support, software updates, and catalogue synchronisation.
What hardware does the Mirror require?
The Mirror runs on a compatible touchscreen device with a high-resolution camera, a mini PTZ camera, hardware capable of 3D rendering and face tracking, and audio output for multilingual prompts. All hardware is provided or validated by Spaarkly.
