Frequently Asked Questions

General

Does the Mirror need an internet connection to work?

The core experience — catalogue browsing, virtual try-on, and 3D viewing — works offline because all content is stored locally on the device. However, internet is required for remote support, software updates, catalogue synchronisation with ARShades Studio, and the QR code photo sharing feature (Shoot & Share). Minimum recommended bandwidth: 10 Mbps download / 3 Mbps upload.

What languages does the Mirror support?

The interface and audio guides are available in Italian, English, French, Spanish, and German. Additional languages can be activated upon request.

Do customers need to create an account or log in?

No. The experience is entirely self-service and anonymous. No login, registration, or personal data entry is required from the customer.

What happens to the customer's photos?

Photos taken during the Showroom experience are stored temporarily on servers located in the European Union and are automatically deleted within 24 hours. The customer can also choose to delete them immediately. No photos are retained between sessions.

Hardware

What are the dimensions of the Mirror?

The full unit measures 40.99 x 73.32 x 149.98 cm. The screen is a 32" Full HD display in portrait orientation (1080 x 1920 px).

Can I connect the Mirror via Ethernet instead of WiFi?

Yes. The Mirror supports Dual-band WiFi, Ethernet, and Bluetooth 5.0 connections. Ethernet provides a more stable and reliable connection.

What temperature range is safe for the Mirror?

The Mirror should operate between 10 deg C and 35 deg C with relative humidity between 20% and 80% (non-condensing). Avoid placing it near heat sources, in direct sunlight, or in excessively humid or dusty areas.

Software and Features

What is the Virtual Try-On (VTO)?

The Virtual Try-On allows customers to see how glasses look on their face in real time using the Mirror's 4K camera. The 3D models of the glasses are rendered and overlaid onto the customer's face as they look at the screen.

What is the Personal Showroom?

The Personal Showroom is a guided experience where the Mirror captures a few photos of the customer's face and then generates a personalised gallery showing all selected eyewear models virtually worn by the customer.

What is Shoot & Share?

At the end of the experience, the Mirror generates a temporary QR code that the customer can scan with their smartphone to download or share the photos of themselves wearing the selected glasses.

Can the catalogues be updated remotely?

Yes. Catalogues, 3D models, and multimedia assets are managed through ARShades Studio and can be updated remotely by the Spaarkly team.
