Camera Installation

The ARShades Mirror Showroom uses a 4K HD mini PTZ camera (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) that sits on top of the display unit. This camera is essential for both the virtual try-on experience and the showroom photo acquisition.

Positioning the Camera

  1. Unpack the camera carefully from its protective wrapping.
  2. Place the camera on top of the mirror display, in the dedicated mounting slot or bracket.
  3. Make sure the camera is centred on the display and pointing forward.
  4. The camera should sit securely and not wobble — adjust the mounting bracket if needed.

Connecting the Camera

  1. Locate the camera USB port on the back or side panel of the mirror unit.
  2. Connect the camera cable (USB) from the camera to the mirror.
  3. Ensure the cable is firmly seated in both connectors.
  4. Route the cable neatly along the back of the display or through the cable management channel to keep it tidy.
tip

The camera cable should have enough slack to allow for minor adjustments to the camera position, but should not hang loosely or be visible from the front.

Camera Features

The mini PTZ camera is managed entirely by the software through dedicated application logic, and offers several intelligent features:

  • Auto-centring: Automatically positions and centres the user within the useful capture area.
  • Adaptive framing: Adjusts the field of view to optimise the virtual try-on and photo capture.
  • User tracking (follow): Follows the user during the experience phases for a smoother interaction.
  • Enhanced quality: Improves the overall quality of the virtual try-on and showroom photo acquisition.

The actual capabilities depend on the installed hardware model, software configuration, and installation context. All these functions are configured and controlled remotely by the Spaarkly team — no manual adjustment is needed after installation.

Verifying the Camera

After connecting the camera:

  1. Power on the Mirror (see First Power On).
  2. During the activation session with the Spaarkly team, the camera functionality will be tested and verified remotely.
  3. The camera serial number will be recorded in the Hardware Identification Sheet for your device.
warning

Do not attempt to disassemble, modify, or reposition the camera internals. If the camera appears to malfunction, contact our support team for remote diagnosis.
