Software Updates
How Updates Work
The ARShades Mirror software can receive corrective, improvement, evolutionary, or configuration updates remotely, as provided by the service contract.
All updates are managed by the Spaarkly team — no action is required from the store staff, other than ensuring the device is powered on and connected to the internet.
You will always be notified in advance before any update is applied.
Update Methods
Scheduled Automatic Update
The update is applied automatically at an agreed time, typically outside of store opening hours.
- The Mirror must remain switched on and connected to the internet during the update window.
- The update runs in the background and the device will restart automatically when completed.
Update by Appointment
For more significant updates, an appointment is arranged between the Spaarkly team and the store.
- A support technician will connect remotely to apply the update.
- The store may be asked to confirm that the Mirror is on and connected.
What to Do During an Update
Do NOT switch off the Mirror during an update. Interrupting an update may cause the software to become unstable and require additional support intervention.
- The screen may show a loading indicator or go temporarily blank during the process.
- Updates typically take 5 to 15 minutes, depending on the scope.
- If the update takes longer than expected, do not intervene — contact support if it exceeds 30 minutes.
What Gets Updated
The technical support covers:
- Remote assistance and anomaly resolution.
- Configuration updates — changes to filters, branding, languages, or flow.
- Software maintenance — bug fixes and performance improvements.
- Catalogue content updates, if included in the purchased service.
Verifying the Update
After an update:
- The Mirror will restart automatically and launch the Showroom application.
- Verify that the camera, touch, catalogue, and audio are working correctly.
- If anything appears different or not working, contact support.
