Features

ARShades Mirror – Showroom Edition is designed to run on mirror devices or touchscreen displays with an integrated or connected camera, including, where provided in the supplied configuration, a mini PTZ camera.

The solution combines, in a single digital experience:

  1. a touch navigation system for the catalogue with filtering and selection functions;
  2. a real-time Virtual Try-On (VTO) mode, based on face tracking and 3D rendering of the eyewear;
  3. a personal Showroom / augmented catalogue mode that captures user images through a guided flow and generates a personalised gallery of products displayed on the user's face, allowing the creation of a shortlist of favourite models and the sharing of the user's images while wearing the chosen eyewear.

Main features

The software includes the following main features:

  1. display of digital eyewear catalogues;
  2. catalogue navigation by target, brand, product type and additional filter criteria;
  3. 3D View mode for the product;
  4. Try-On mode with real-time overlay of the 3D model on the user's face;
  5. selection of size, colour variants and other product attributes;
  6. quick filters and advanced filters on the catalogue;
  7. selection and storage of favourite models;
  8. generation of a personal Showroom through guided acquisition of images of the user's face;
  9. choice of the preferred view and generation of a final gallery with the selected models;
  10. download and/or sharing of the generated images via a temporary QR code;
  11. image management with the option for the user to delete images immediately, where provided by the active flow;
  12. multilingual interface;
  13. system of dynamic multilingual audio prompts and guides, used during the acquisition phase and at the main steps of the user flow;
  14. software management of the mini PTZ camera, with centring, field-of-view adaptation and user-tracking functions;
  15. advanced analytics system dedicated to the mirror experience.

Usage modes

The software is designed for self-service use, without any authentication of the end user.

The experience can be articulated in complementary modes:

  1. real-time virtual try-on, in which the user explores the models and views them on their face through the camera;
  2. personal showroom, in which the system acquires guided images of the user and produces a selection of personalised images with the chosen models realistically overlaid;
  3. final content sharing, via QR code or equivalent mechanism, allowing the user to download or share the generated images.

The interaction is designed to be used independently through touch controls, visual instructions and, where activated, multilingual audio support.

Advanced analytics

The software includes an advanced analytics system dedicated to the mirror experience, aimed at measuring service usage, user interactions and flow performance.

By way of example, the analytics include:

  1. number of sessions started;
  2. session duration;
  3. language used;
  4. number of products viewed in VTO;
  5. number of products viewed in 3D viewer;
  6. detail of products viewed;
  7. detail of variants tried;
  8. number of showroom experiences;
  9. products added to favourites;
  10. use of quick and advanced filters;
  11. completion, voluntary termination or abandonment of the flow;
  12. page of voluntary termination or abandonment;
  13. expressed rating (Yes, No);
  14. experience rating (1-5);
  15. QR code scan;
  16. number of photos shared;
  17. estimated aggregate user information (gender and age ranges).

On-device AI module for anonymous analysis

The software may include a module based on open-source AI, executed locally on the device, intended exclusively for statistical and analytical purposes related to the mirror experience.

This module may detect, in automatic, estimated and anonymous form, some general characteristics of the person in front of the device, such as:

  1. estimated gender;
  2. estimated age range;
  3. presence or absence of glasses;
  4. demographic classes or further estimated attributes enabled in the project configuration.

The data thus collected is processed exclusively in anonymous form and for statistical purposes, without name-based identification of the end user, except as otherwise specified in the applicable privacy and contractual documentation.

Image management, QR code and privacy

In the Showroom version, the software acquires images of the user's face in order to:

  1. generate the personal showroom (catalogue of worn products);
  2. allow the user to download or share the images of the products being worn.

Before the acquisition flow starts, the user is informed of the purpose of the processing and of the related privacy notice.

The generated images are made available via a temporary QR code. The user can download and share the images securely.

User images, in line with the ARShades privacy policy, are permanently deleted from the servers within 24 hours. The user can also delete their own images immediately and autonomously.
