Daily Use

The ARShades Mirror Showroom is designed for fully self-service use. This page describes the typical customer journey as experienced on the device.

Typical Customer Experience

1. Welcome Screen

The customer approaches the Mirror and sees the welcome screen with a call to action to start the experience.

2. Category Selection

The customer selects an initial category — for example, Men, Women, or Unisex — and then browses by product type and brand.

3. Catalogue Navigation

The customer explores the available eyewear models through the digital catalogue, using quick filters and advanced filters to narrow down the selection.

4. Virtual Try-On and 3D View

When a model is selected, the customer can:

  • View it in 3D from all angles.
  • Try it on virtually using the live camera feed — the glasses are overlaid on their face in real time.
  • Switch between sizes and colour variants where available.

5. Personal Showroom

The system proposes the creation of a personal showroom, guiding the customer to build a shortlist of favourite models.

6. Photo Acquisition

The software guides the customer through a quick photo session with on-screen and audio instructions:

  • Look straight at the camera
  • Remove any existing glasses
  • Turn the face as instructed
  • Confirm or retake the photos

The system generates a personalised catalogue showing all selected models virtually worn by the customer, presented as a grid of digital cards. Each card shows a realistic image of the customer with the glasses, the product name and brand, and colour variant availability.

8. Shortlist of Favourites

The customer can select favourite models from the personalised catalogue (using the + button), building a shortlist of products of interest.

9. Colour Selection via Try-On

The customer can refine their choice by trying different colour variants on the shortlisted models using the live virtual try-on, and express preferences via a "like" function.

10. Final Shortlist

A final gallery is presented, showing the customer's top picks with both front and side view images for a more complete representation.

11. Rating and Photo Download

At the end of the experience:

  • The customer is asked to rate the experience (1 to 5).
  • If desired, the customer can download their photos by scanning a temporary QR code with their smartphone.

12. Download, Share, and Delete

The customer can select, download, share, or delete the generated images according to the available options.

13. Session End

The session ends when the customer finishes or after a period of inactivity (timeout). The Mirror resets to the welcome screen, ready for the next customer.

Privacy

Customer photos are stored temporarily on servers located in the European Union and are automatically deleted within 24 hours. The customer can also choose to delete them immediately. The customer is informed about data usage and the privacy policy before the photo capture begins.
