Catalogue Overview
Catalogues in ARShades Studio are the central containers where all 3D eyewear assets are organised, customised, and published. They act as the bridge between your organisation’s 3D asset library and the experiences delivered to your customers through Virtual Try-On (VTO), 3D viewers, and gateways.
What a Catalogue Is
A catalogue is a structured collection of products and their variants, enriched with 3D models, VTO links, and custom branding settings. It defines how assets are grouped, displayed, and shared across different platforms.
Each catalogue:
- Is associated with a subscription plan (main or add-on).
- Can include multiple brands, products, and SKUs.
- Supports both Draft and Published states, allowing safe preparation before going live.
- Provides automatic generation of ARShades links for embedding in websites, apps, or campaigns.
Purpose of Catalogues
Catalogues serve several key functions:
- Organisation: Centralise all eyewear assets for a specific brand, campaign, or subscription.
- Customisation: Apply branding, colour schemes, banners, and SEO metadata.
- Publication Control: Decide which assets are visible, and manage their display priority.
- Integration: Export ARShades links and embed them into e-commerce sites, apps, or digital catalogues.
- Analytics: Monitor usage data and customer engagement across catalogues (if enabled).
Role-Based Access
Access to catalogues depends on user roles:
- Admins and Members can create, edit, and publish catalogues within their assigned subscriptions.
- Validators can view assigned catalogues and access the asset list, but cannot create or publish.
Lifecycle of a Catalogue
- Draft: Created and customised but not publicly accessible.
- Published: Live and accessible via its subdomain and ARShades links.
- Unpublished: Temporarily disabled without deleting data.
Why Catalogues Matter
Catalogues are the foundation for delivering ARShades solutions. Without a catalogue, you cannot:
- Integrate the VTO or 3D Viewer into your website or app.
- Distribute links for product experiences.
- Track asset usage and performance analytics.
In summary, catalogues provide a structured, flexible, and controlled way to manage your eyewear assets, ensuring that only validated and published content reaches your customers.
