Publish a Catalogue

Publishing makes a draft catalogue reachable by your customers, at its own address and through the ARShades integration links. It is a deliberate step: what you build stays private until you decide otherwise.

Publishing is not a single confirmation click. It opens a two-step wizard where you choose the plan the catalogue runs on and decide who can reach it.

How to Publish​

  1. Go to My Catalogues from the left-hand navigation menu.
  2. Open the Drafts tab.
  3. Open the contextual menu (hamburger icon) on the catalogue card.
  4. Select PUBLISH DRAFT.
  5. Complete the two steps of the wizard.

Step 1 – Select linked plan​

Choose the License the catalogue will be published under, from the plans available to you.

This is not a formality: the plan sets the limits the catalogue lives within. The step warns you to check the license limits before selecting, and points to an upgrade when the plan you need is not there. If you need something the available plans do not cover, the step tells you to contact support.

Step 2 – Permissions​

This is where the public address and the access rules are decided.

SubdomainThe address the catalogue answers on. You choose it here — use lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens only. Pick something memorable that represents the brand: it is what your customers will see.
Target DomainThe domain the catalogue will be embedded on. Setting it enables iframe-only access automatically, as a security measure.
Require LoginLeave it off for a publicly accessible catalogue. Turn it on to restrict access.
PasswordA password for restricted access within your embedded catalogue.

Confirming the second step publishes the catalogue.

After Publishing​

  • The catalogue is reachable at the subdomain you chose.
  • The ARShades links are available for embedding in e-commerce sites, apps or campaigns. See Download ARShades Links.
  • The card moves from the Drafts tab to the Published tab.
  • Products and variants appear according to their visibility settings. See Pause or Cancel Assets.
A new catalogue is empty, and it has no page design

Publishing an empty catalogue publishes an empty page. Add the 3D assets first, and set the look of the page with Design Catalogue — it works on drafts too, so both can be done before you ever publish. See Design Catalogue.

Changing a Published Catalogue​

Editing a published catalogue does not touch the live version straight away: the changes are held in a draft of it. When you are ready, the contextual menu offers PUBLISH CHANGES, which appears only while such a draft exists.

The other entries the menu offers on a published catalogue:

  • CATALOGUE SETTINGS — name, SEO and permissions. See Catalogue Settings.
  • DESIGN CATALOGUE — the look of the public page, published on its own. See Preview and Publish.
  • UNPUBLISH CATALOG — takes the catalogue off public access without deleting it.
  • REPUBLISH CATALOG — brings back a catalogue that is no longer live, for instance after it was unpublished or its plan expired.
  • DELETE CATALOG — removes it.
