Pause or Cancel Assets

The Pause or Cancel Assets functions in ARShades Studio allow you to control which products and variants are temporarily hidden from catalogues or permanently removed. This distinction is essential for managing catalogue content while keeping control over subscription tiers.

Pause (Set Visibility Off)

Pausing an asset means hiding it from end users without removing it from the catalogue.

Key Points

  • Products or variants marked as not visible remain in the catalogue but are hidden from published experiences.
  • Once an item is paused, its ARShades links are automatically disabled and no longer reachable.
  • In multi-product VTO or 3D Viewer experiences:
    • Only visible variants are displayed in the colour/variant selector.
    • If only one variant remains visible, the UI automatically switches to the single-product layout.
  • Paused products and variants continue to count towards the subscription tier limits.

How to Pause an Asset

  1. Open the Assets List of a catalogue.
  2. Locate the product or variant you want to pause.
  3. Toggle the Visibility switch off.
  4. The product or variant remains in the list but is hidden from the catalogue’s public view.

Cancel (Delete)

Cancelling an asset means permanently removing it from the catalogue.

Key Points

  • Deleted products or variants are immediately removed from the catalogue.
  • They no longer count towards the subscription tier limits.
  • Deleted items can be replaced by adding new products or variants from the ARShades Library.
  • This action cannot be undone.

How to Cancel an Asset

  1. Open the Assets List of a catalogue.
  2. Locate the product or variant you want to cancel.
  3. Click the Delete icon (bin).
  4. Confirm the deletion in the modal dialogue:
    • Delete Product: Removes the product and all its variants.
    • Delete Variant: Removes only the selected variant.

When to Use Pause vs Cancel

Cancel (Delete)Removes product/variant permanentlyNoNo

Best Practice

  • Use Pause when you want to temporarily hide products (e.g., seasonal items or models under review).
  • Use Cancel when you want to permanently remove assets and free up space in your subscription allowance.
