Merchandising

Merchandising is where prices, offers and badges appear on the catalogue page. Before anything else, one distinction: the prices and the way they are displayed are two different things, set in two different places.

Why Half the Settings Are Greyed Out
The display settings only make sense once the catalogue has prices. Until at least one variant carries a price, seven of the twelve settings stay visible but disabled, with a notice explaining where to import the price list.

They are disabled rather than hidden on purpose: seeing a setting you cannot use yet, and being told why, is more useful than wondering whether it exists.
Tips:
- To turn prices on: open the catalogue's Assets List, use Manage Prices to download the spreadsheet of the catalogue's products, fill in the prices, and import it back. Then come back here.
- A setting you have never touched follows the template's factory value. The reset arrow appears only on settings you actually changed.
Two Things That Look Like Bugs
The promotional banner only appears on the Boutique template. The banner text and its switch are available whichever template you use, but only Boutique renders them. The panel says so next to the field.
On a draft, the preview shows the published catalogue's prices. While you work on a draft, the preview cannot read the draft's own price list, so it shows the prices of the published catalogue. The settings you change are saved correctly — it is the preview that is one step behind.
